Turn A Dog Into A Wolf Spell

A Torre das Olympics 2016 - Rio de Janeiro

A Torre das Olympics 2016 - Rio de Janeiro

The challenge was to design a vertical structure on the island of Cotonduba that, besides having the function of the observation tower was becomes a symbol of welcome for those who come to Rio by air or sea, and this will be the host city for the 2016 Olympics.

Designed by Rafa Office, based in Zurich, Switzerland, and called 'Solar City Tower', this structure was chosen as the appropriate response to the initial proposal and has the potential to generate enough power to not only the Olympic village, and by River City

Its design permits the utilization of solar energy during the day for the panels located at ground level, while the excess energy produced is piped to the pump
of seawater inside Tower, producing an effect of water falling in the pool
. This water is reused simultaneously through turbines to produce power at night.

These features allow you to assign the title of the sustainable development project in the tower, following the assumptions of the "Land of the United Nations to the Summit" of 1992, which also occurred in Rio de Janeiro, thus helping to promote among the inhabitants of the city the use of natural resources for energy production

The Solar City Tower also includes other features. Amphitheatre auditorium, cafeteria and shops are accessible on the ground floor, from which you access also to the public elevator will lead visitors to different observatories, as well as a retractable platform for the practice of bungee jumping.

At the top of the tower you can enjoy all the scenery around the island, which will take place, and the fall of water generated by any system that integrates the city's solar tower, making it a point of reference for the 2016 Olympic Games and Rio de Janeiro.
