2010 YEAR OF HISTORIC ORGANS OF OAXACA

Jacobean Holy Year was called (in Galician: Jacobean Holy Year) a year in which July 25 falls on Sunday. This happens with a regular cadence of 6-5-6-11 years, so that each held fourteen century Jacobean Holy Years. In these years the Catholics can celebrate the jubilee. So the requirements are:

1. Visit the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain where, according to tradition, the tomb of Saint James the Greater.
2. Saying a prayer and pray for the Pope's intentions.
3. Receive the sacraments of penance (may be two weeks earlier or later) and communion. Mass hearing is recommended.

is customary, also through the Holy Door of the Cathedral.

The grace of the Jubilee is essentially a plenary indulgence (complete) for the forgiveness of sins which deserve punishment.

The first Jubilee Year would be established by Pope Callistus II in the year 1126. The latter have been 1993, 1999, 2004 and 2010. The next will be in 2021.

6-5-6-11 Cadence jacobeos the years can be explained by the rate of leap years and the fact that a week has 7 days. If we would not have leap years every 7 years Jacobean years.

should be noted that if there was any alteration in the sequence of leap automatically alter the rate of Jacobean years. This happened with the Gregorian Reform of the year 1582 and follows, therefore, also in centennial years that are multiples of 400.

For centuries since the beginnings of the Christian era there have been many pilgrims who have followed the steps Santiago across the entire north of the Iberian Peninsula to Santiago de Compostela and still continue to do so.

El Camino de Santiago is a synonym for culture, sport, religion, nature, tradition, challenge, peace but everything has a meaning of freedom. Throughout history many emperors like Charlemagne, as Calixtus II popes, kings like Alfonso II, brave knights as "El Cid" or the Knights Templar, nobles, thousands of monks, priests, peasants, vagabonds and rogues, passengers safe and sick, blind, lame, rich and beggars, all of which have been pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago and they all received the same honors as no one could know whether the pilgrim dirty, tired and full of blisters that had just come to town just before dark was a king, a bishop, or a beggar. They were and are all pilgrims always looking for new horizons, always bringing new ideas. Thus, it is a road without prejudice.
