Four Leaf Clover

The four-leaf clover is a rare variation of clover three leaflets commonly found in the field. According to tradition, such leaflets bring good luck to their finders, especially if found accidentally. [ 1 ]

Clovers can have more than four leaflets. The largest number of leaflets ever found on a clover is twenty-one, beating the previous eighteen. [ 2 ] is estimated that there are approximately 10,000 clubs of three leaflets on each clover four leaflets. [ 3 ]

According to legend, each leaflet represents something:

  • The first is for hope
  • The second is for faith
  • The third is for love
  • the fourth for luck . [1]

generation is debated whether the fourth leaflet is caused by genetic or environmental reasons. Its rarity suggests a possible recessive gene that appears infrequently. Alternatively, the clubs of four leaflets could be caused by somatic mutation or a developmental error of environmental causes. Could also be caused by the interaction of several genes that segregate in the individual plant. It is possible that all four explanations could apply to individual cases. Some companies now produce

clover leaflets by various means. Richard Mabey argues, in the Flora Britannica that there are farms in the United States that specialize in growing clover leaflets, producing up to 10,000 per day (packed in plastic as lucky charms ) were feed ingredient Secret GM plants intended to encourage aberration. Mabey also indicates that children learn that a five-leaf clover is even luckier than a four. [4
